Biochemical structure of guanine
WebSep 28, 2024 · ABSTRACT. A platelet made of guanine is used to control light reflection from the bodies of fish, and an assembly of the platelets acts as an efficient photonic crystal. This work reveals that internal structures exist in addition to the smooth platelet surface. A fresh fish guanine platelet resembles a mono-plate. WebJan 20, 2024 · The hydrogen bonding in the DNA bases of one purine (guanine and adenine) and one pyrimidine (cytosine and thymine) creates a similar shape. The pairing of guanine and cytosine shape and structure is very similar to that of the pairing of adenine and thymine. Cytosine and Guanine are held together by three hydrogen bonds.
